Our journey began in January 2025 when a group of friends and families came together with a shared vision of fostering unity, friendship, and support among indigenes and friends of Ile-Ife living abroad. What started as an informal gathering gradually grew in strength and purpose, leading to the formal establishment of Akodi Ife in Diaspora as an association in June 2025. Since then, we have remained committed to promoting our cultural heritage, strengthening community bonds, and supporting one another as one united family.
Akodi Ife in Diaspora is founded on the enduring values of unity, love, peace, respect, integrity, and mutual support. We are a family brought together by our shared roots, common aspirations, and unwavering commitment to preserving the legacy of our ancestral home, Ile-Ife.
As descendants of the great Yoruba race, we cherish our connection to Ile-Ife — the sacred cradle of Yoruba civilization and the source of our cultural identity. This proud heritage inspires us to bear the name Akodi Ife, reflecting our deep respect for our roots and our responsibility to uphold the traditions, values, and dignity of our people wherever we reside across the world.
